My passion for training began when I joined a gym at the age of 17. I took to it instantly, discovering that I was naturally very strong. The gym soon became a regular way of life for me.
After having my 2 children I took up long distance running. At first it seemed like a quick way to shift the ‘baby’ weight, but being competitive and very goal driven I was soon entering into half marathons and ran the London Marathon twice.
Disaster struck when I was continually hounded by a hamstring injury that eventually led to me hanging up my running shoes. Although devastated at the decision I had to make, I knew I needed a new goal, so I dived back into the gym and began weight training again.
It was towards the end of last year a friend of mine suggested I try competing on stage. I wasn’t too keen to begin with but after a lot of persuasion I decided to sign up and give it a go.
In June this year I competed for the first time with Pure Elite and came home with two 2nd place trophies and a 3rd. I was ecstatic and instantly hooked!
I immediately signed up to compete in Miami Pro 4 weeks later and won both my categories (Muscle model and Figure).
In November this year I finished off my first year of competing by winning the Pure Elite World final in Muscle Model and came 2nd in the Muscle over 35 category, winning myself 2 Pro cards
My plans for 2016 are to grow!! I want to train hard and see how much more I can build up my body. Will I be Miss Olympia one day? Probably not but I’m going to give it all I’ve got!
